Taylor joined Duran Duran around 1980 (easy a virtually all experient musician in a b&), and enjoyed their crazy rise to fame above the next 5 years. He married Tracey Wilson, one of a band's hairdresser, around 1982. He grew disgruntled by using a band's keyboard-large synth pop, however, & longed to stretch out his rock muscles.

He invested with around real-estate, & owned the wine bar within Whitley Bay named "Rio" after one of Duran Duran's large hit singles.

inside the period of the hiatus in Duran's schedule, he joined forces by using bassist John Taylor to create a band Power Station, which had deuce hit singles & ended higher swimming at a Live Aid concert in 1985.

When Power Station, Taylor allowed Duran Duran to imagine he would exist as giving to record the recently album, just as he was sign language contracts for the solo career within Los Angeles. In time Duran sued for him in a studio to complete the album Notorious, but he ended higher swimming in exclusively two or three tracks prior to departing a band entirely. He later on countersued to claim a bit of of the royalties from either that album.

Meanwhile, he hooked higher by using ex-Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones and recorded the hit only "Take It Easy", which wwhen utilized as a theme song from either a film American Anthem.

This was followed by his number 1 solo album, Thunder (1987).

Another solo album of cover versions, entitled Dangerous, was released inside 1990.

Taylor played as a back higher musician for many more stars, including Belinda Carlisle (on her only "Mad About You") & Robert Palmer; he wrote and produced for Rod Stewart and Thunder.

He so moved in to producing to a full instance, working by owning many moderately successful elastic throughout the 1990s.

He participated in the 1997 reunion of the Power Station, and then within 2001 reunited with a more original members of Duran Duran to record their number one freshly music together since 1985. A album Astronaut features a good blend of Taylor's heavy guitar by using a synth hooks of the classic Duran Duran healthy.
